Frequently asked questions
Why is the location wrong?
IP geolocation maps an address to wherever the network operator routes it, which can be a different city or even a different region — mobile networks and VPNs especially. It is an estimate from a database, not a GPS position.
Do you store my IP address?
No. The address is read from the connection, returned only to you in a response marked private and uncacheable, and nothing about it is logged or kept.
